10. I’m looking forward to seeing Rudy Fernandez in Portland this season
9. Jose Calderon showed his commitment to his career, health, and the Raptors organization by not playing against Lithuania or the United States
8. Dwight Howard has got to put in A LOT of time at the free throw line. If he can hit free throws on a consistent basis, he can be an MVP in the NBA one day.
7. Dwyane Wade: Heeeeeeeeee’s Baaaaaaaaaack. Watch out for the Heat this year!
6. No - contrary to what some people have said - I don’t think I look like Juan Carlos Navarro. I’m better looking! Ha.
5. I’d love to see the ‘92 Dream Team and the ‘08 Redeem Team play in a charity game with mixed-up rosters; 6 members from each team comprising the squad for the charity tilt (i.e. - Magic, Kobe, Barkley and so on … versus LeBron, Bird, Kidd, etc)
4. If Coach K truly doesn’t return for 2012, it’ll be a shame. But I bet Mike D’Antoni takes the helm.
3. Marc Gasol is a beast. He and Darko will give the Grizz a ton of size and strength up front.
2. Love him or hate him, Kobe Bryant is CLUTCH. If there’s one guy I’d want to give the ball to in the dying minutes of a game … It’s Kobe Bryant. Not LeBron … not Garnett … not Carmelo or Duncan or anyone else. Give me Kobe.
1. Spain’s constant whining and complaining to the officials (mostly from those on the bench) was embarrassing. If the U.S. had acted the way many members of the Spanish team did throughout the game, folks (the media; fans) would have called the Americans arrogant, ignorant, boorish and classless. Those words could apply to some members of Team Spain for the way they acted (and flopped) on the floor and on sidelines.

Riiightttt… give you Kobe in the clutch?
Interesting….considering his bombing 5/6 of the NBA Finals’ games.
- jeffI was impressed with Jose’s restraint to not play. I’m guessing he saw what happened with Garbo and he didn’t want all that to happen to him too
- nicoleWhat about ricky rubio?- the new pistol - the kid was fearless and fun to watch - anyone in the NBA got his rights?
- conorI’ll take Agent 0 in the clutch.
- AndrewGreat point about Jose Calderon, he wants to show the world that he is worthy of his contract and bring us deep into the playoffs :) :D
- TimCalderon is wonderful.
I sold my seasons tickets but so far have bought every wednesday game in side platinums and will probably buy more tickets. I find it insulting when player ignore the people that backed them day in and day out both financially and emotionally. The more you know about Calderon the more you know he is “OUR GUY”. As he would say of others.
Something very special is going to happen between Caleron, Bosh and ONeil. Something much greater than the sum of the parts. That being said they are great parts.
- MilesI give all involved credit, I think Jose, The Raptors and Spanish Basketball did not want another GarboGate. I think they all honestly could see the U.S was going to win and putting Jose at risk was not worth it for any of the Parties.
- James BorbathHello from Spain.
Ricky Rubio reminds Pistol Pete physically, but his game is more like Magic Johnson’s. He is a pure facilitator, not a scorer (by the way he has a poor shot). People looks surprised about his performance at 17yo, but I must say that those who have watched him playing in Spain (he’s a pro since he was 14yo) think that his performance was under his usual level. He’s much better than he has shown in the olympics. He is just amazing.
- Bend3rThanks for checking in from Spain!
- E. SmithRubio has unbelievable NBA potential and will be an excellent defender, but if he want’s to be a PG in the NBA he must learn to shoot and score. The main reason Spain lost vs the US was the superior play and scoring of their PG’s. At 17 he has time.
