Friday July 18 2008 – 1:30am Eastern
I’ll be on a plane while Canada is playing Croatia later this morning … so I’ll hope to find out some good news when I land.
It’s 1:30am and I’m heading to Las Vegas in about five hours.
Ironically, this trip to Vegas has nothing to do with the Raptors Summer League either. This is just a quick get-away for my wife and I … after celebrating our 2-year anniversary earlier this week. But I do plan on checking out the Raps while I’m there; probably their final game on Saturday afternoon.
Joey Graham continues his strong play for Toronto … but he wasn’t able to get his club over the hump last night, as the Raptors fell lost to Philly and dropped to 0-3 in Summer League action.
I’ll probably be away from the computer for the next couple of days … so my next blog entry likely won’t come until Tuesday afternoon when I’m back from Sin City.
I’ll see if I can’t dig up a few nuggets RE: the Raptors while I’m wandering around Vegas for a few days. But this trip is supposed to be a vacation … not work! I’ve got too much blackjack to get in … and some pool-side chill time as well.
Enjoy the weekend folks

Thank goodness you didn’t watch Canada v Croatia. It was a stinker! Leo Rautins has been a miserable failure and it’s time to fire him and hand over the job to someone who doesn’t have a big ego.
- Beburg aka The relief pitcherDon’t know if anyone feels the way I do about Chuck Swirsky criticizing the Toronto sports fans lately. Not sure if he realizes it or not. This guy is leaving mlse after comments about toronto and in general ontario if not canadian sports fans that upset me. Once thought of as raptors basketball, chuck hopefully leaves town asap. Does anyone else feel his comments lately are ignorent. Hey chuck, if the Jays are a first place team like the cubs the place is sold out all year. Hey chuck when the bulls are 28 and 40 count how many butts are in those seats. One more thing. Do we really need Chuck as an ambassdor to this World class city and country, Yeh right. That comment in itself is an insult. See ya chuck. Hope that you post this, havent been able to get on the chuck show. He may be a great person but his views are uneducated considering he has only lived here for 10 years.
- Rob HoughHave Fun Eric Enjoy the Break. I was reading a lot of the Raps will be in Vegas and staying after summer League to train there. Maybe your going to Vegas will bring the Raps a win in Summer League. As For the Blackjack good luck at the tables as well. If you see Barkley just follow him and bet against him. Chris Bosh swears by that system!!!
- James BorbathI think you’re way off Rob. Way off.
- E. SmithVery disappointed in Leo’s coaching abilities. I think it’s time to bring in a highly respected coach with an actual background as a successful coach. Since they absolutely blew it with Triano, I would go after Jack Armstrong or even Butch Carter.
- Jay CShame on Steve Nash! I’ve lost respect for him. Look at Kidd, he’s older than Nash and is in the US team. If Nash had showed up in the qualifiers, we’d be in, guaranteed. Nowitzki just proved what a super star can do to a weaker team like Germany. But Nash didn’t care for his country. Well, another four years of frustration!
- Beburg aka The relief pitcherHow was Sin City Eric. Did the tables treat you well? Not sure if you noticed but did you happen to see the odds on Raptors to win NBA title next year? Just wondering if betting community has faith in the O’Neal trade.
