Toronto owns the 17th selection in the 2008 NBA Draft. The Raptors sent their second round pick (47th overall) to San Antonio on June 28, 2007 in exchange for the draft rights to forward Giorgos Printezis.

Looks like Thursday could be interesting! That’s the best talent they’ve had in for a one day workout so far!
- jeffSo no Joe Alexander? That’s disappointing :(
He’s projected higher than #17 but it shouldn’t take a tonne to move up - has the skill set we need.
On another note:
Hopefully management starts focusing on defense a bit.
Boston just proved you don’t need “shooters at every postion” and that the game “hasn’t changed”. They got it done with a 2nd year PG who frankly can’t shoot very well but who is already an elite defensive player. You know it’s bad when he puts up 15 more rebounds in the finals than Bargnani had in the 1st round, while having the same number of blocks. He’s 1 foot shorter!
Don’t want to be doom and gloom but we’re going to be in a world of hurt if we go into next year with starters at the 1 and 5 who are amongst the worst defenders in the league at their position.
- Mike“Know thy role, play two ways”
Rondo gave up his “hero shots” at Rivers ordering to play his role and became a star. With all Ford’s talent he proclaims himself a star then goes out to disprove it.
The structure Rivers created set roles for each player and gave them a chance to excell at what they knew was their job. The had a leader with a vision on the bench and three leaders on the floor. Structure created more leaders than the three for Boston. LA was chaos against such structure. The Raptors are always chaos.
