I had every intention of logging in tonight to give the “20 Greatest Celtics of All Time” - as I did yesterday with the 20 Greatest Lakers.
However, I got home from the Tom Petty concert a lot later than I expected to and I wasn’t able to get the list done in time. So we’ll talk Celtics later this afternoon / this evening.
Petty and the Heartbreakers rocked the ACC and didn’t disappoint … playing all-but every hit! His tribute to Bo Diddley (who passed away on Monday) was outstanding and his flashback to his Traveling Wilburys days was great as well.
Anyway, moving on from Petty …
I spent a good chunk of the morning on Tuesday hanging out at the ACC. It was Day 1 of the Raptors pre-draft workouts. When the media - a sparse crowd of only about 5 or 6 of us - were let into the Adidas practice facility … the group of prospects were still going through a number of shooting drills, sprints, and scrimmages. I spent at least an hour watching Wayne Ellington, Shan Foster, Jamont Gordon, Danny Green, Malik Hairston, and Courtney Lee.
No disrespect to those 6 young men … but I don’t see any of them wearing a Raptors uniform anytime soon. Not with the 17th pick at least. I walked away from the workouts without being overly impressed by any of these guys.
Lee may have been the best of the bunch, showing off his athleticism a number of times. Hairston wasn’t shy to shoot and showed some pretty good range as well, but he’s got a funky delivery. And, unfortunately, Green wasn’t in top form … hobbling around the floor on a bad left ankle or foot. He toughed it out though!
Things should get a little more interesting on Wednesday when the likes of Robin Lopez and Kosta Koufas (amongst others) come to town.

I am wondering how much do you the media get in comparison to a regular Raptor practice? Our these things open for the whole time? I know they tape them for the Raptors T.V behind the draft feature they put together each year. So if you can let folks know Eric I would be interested how it works. At least to Me.
- James BorbathNot much. It was a fluke that we got in that early and saw as much as we did.
