The Toronto Raptors just released the following statement RE: Anthony Parker and Andrea Bargnani:

” … Guard-forward Anthony Parker underwent surgery Wednesday afternoon in Toronto to repair an injured extensor tendon in the middle finger on his right hand. The procedure was performed by Dr. Brent Graham at Toronto Western Hospital .  

Parker will have his hand set in a cast for three weeks, after which he can begin his rehabilitation.

Parker averaged 12.5 points, second on the team, and 4.1 rebounds in 82 games last season. He became just the third player in team history to start all 82 regular season games.

Forward Andrea Bargnani had surgery in Milan, Italy on May 13 to remove his adenoids and repair a deviated septum.  The procedure was performed by Professor Mario Bussi at Ospedale San Raffaele.

Bargnani is required to have two weeks of non-activity before resuming his workout schedule.

Bargnani averaged 10.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in 78 games, with 53 starts. He scored a career-high 28 points February 1 versus the Los Angeles Lakers and tied his career best with 11 rebounds November 21 at Memphis … “
