1. For the 20TH time: “I was wrong about Rajon Rondo”.
2. Jamario Moon is back. And he’s cheap - which means he might not hold much value in a trade (hypothetically). His return is no surprise, but I wonder if it signals a change that we’ve all speculated about … trading Jason Kapono or Anthony Parker, or not re-signing Carlos Delfino. I mean, can you imagine all 4 being back against next year?
3. As inconsistent as the Jays have been this season, they’re only 4 games out of 1ST place in the AL East.
4. The Lakers would be lost in their series against the Jazz if not for the play of Lamar Odom.
5. Is Ben Wallace done? Is he merely a good ‘role player’ in the NBA now? A second unit guy?
6. Rick Carlisle says he’s ready to play an up-tempo style with his new team in Dallas, but I’m gonna have to see it to believe it. He’s a great coach but he certainly hasn’t been ‘offensive minded’ in the past.
7. Football or basketball … I love listening to Kevin Harlan call games.
8. I grew up a Laker fan … and I love almost everything Jack Nicholson has done (his latest, “The Departed”, was OUTSTANDING) … but … I’m starting to get a little tired of seeing the TV shots of Jack … over and over and over.
9. Did anybody catch Avery Johnson on TNT with Kenny, Charles, and Ernie Johnson? He was solid.
10. Three weeks til Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at the ACC. I can’t wait. Other than country music, I’ll listen to just about anything. From Sinatra to Ludacris … Petty to G Love and Special Sauce … my iPod is pretty diverse. Big shout-out to the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Snoop, and Tom Jones as well!
11. I’m thinking it’s time I got a Blackberry.
12. Ripping a page from Charles Barkley’s book … Here’s my T-Mobile Fave Five (for Canada, let’s call it my ROGERS Fave Five) Raptors of all time:
1. Alvin Williams
2. Matt Bonner
3. Mike James
4. Vince Carter
5. Morris Peterson
(Note: My Fave Five was based on how a player was to deal with … from a media perspective. It was not based on skills or popularity (or lack there of)).
13. Worst nickname in the NBA (and possibly all of pro sports): Daniel “Boobie” Gibson.
14. Mo Peterson may not be lighting the world on fire during the Hornets playoff run thus far … but … the former Raptor is having a decent post-season nonetheless: 7.8 PPG, 2.4 REB, 53.6% FG, 50.0% 3PT, and 9 of 10 games: NO turnovers.
15. A little love for Sid and Tim at The Score. If I’m sitting down at 11:00pm - or whenever - to watch highlights, they’re my first choice.

So you’re saying VC was easier to deal with than CB4? I think we now know the root of the problem with this uninspired bunch. Thanks for clearing that up.
- IIB
- LillyI’m not sure what you’re implying Lilly. Bosh, Calderon, Ford, Moon, Parker … could all be on that list. They’re good guys to deal with and always available for a chat. That list was merely the five best interviews - from an ‘entertainment’ stand point. If I did that list in another 6 months, I’m sure it could/would change and half of those guys I mentioned could easily be bumped into the top 5.
I guess that’s the problem with ‘lists’ … if someone isn’t on it, it’s looked upon as a slight … when that’s entirely not the case at all. I was just trying to have some ‘fun’ … not take a veiled shot at anyone!
- E. SmithHey Eric,
Doesn’t Kevin Harlan sound a lot like Marv Albert? when I hear the TNT games I wonder which one is calling the games till I see a shot of the broadcast team.
Also on Avery Johnson, I like the way he analyzed the game at half time. I don’t think he will coach this year. I heard that he will collect 12 mill if he doesn’t go to another team next year.
- KamalEric .. if you are not the guy who replaces Chuck on the TV play-by-play, you think Tim from the Score can step up? Dude is hilarious .. and hes got the natural voice. He’d provide a little more of an entertaining spin on the broadcast.
- AK1. I was way off on Rondo too.
2. Delfino should not be re-signed. But, have you been able to gain any insight into why Jamario was bench for the bulk of the second half in Game 5? I know this is way after the fact, but his defense was the reason we ever held the lead.
3. The Jays are not a playoff team.
4. True Odom has been big. Pao finally woke up too.
5. Ben Wallace is officially useless for his price tag
6. Agreed. Him and Kevin O’neill define boring.
7. Dude is a legend.. the new Marv Albert. Hopefully he won’t be as weird.
8. hahah
9. He was solid. How about Charlie’s huge Gambling debts? he’s lost what 10 mil.. and is now being sued by Wynn in vegas?
10. Tom Jones can walk on water
11. no I-Phone?
12. Eww … take Vince off that list.
13. He doesn’t help his own cause be putting a star in his hair.
14. Mo has been throwing down a few MP3 downloads thats for sure.
15. Tim is hilarious
- AKJamario Moon is back and will not be traded in my opinion. He’s cheap. But he needs to be coming off the bench next year. They need to upgrade his position with a better more consistent scorer.
As far as Kapono,Parker,Delfino.I think the most likely thing to happen is Delfino not being resigned. It’s easier than trying to trade Kapono’s high priced salary, and Parker should stay because he’s a great team mate and leader on this team. I like Delfino and in a way i prefer him over Kapono because of his defencive ability and Kapono’s lack of court time.
Are you saying,CB4 isn’t on your Fav 5?? VC is?? He seems great with the media.
Ben Wallace IS done!! Too slow and can’t shoot!
I’m tired of Jack Nicholson,Kobe “me” Byant, and the Lakers in general.
- jeffRogers Fav 5…Go For that Raise Eric!!! I was at a stag and doe for an old High School Friend. In the place where smokers go to chat. The topic of Basketball and Celtics came up. I said at that time(Prior to Season) Celtics would be fine with Rondo and my real concern was who would be the back up. That was answered with Sam Cassell. I had confidence Rondo would do well and I am happy he lived up to that. If I had Fav 5 Point Guards Rondo is looking like he could be in the MIX!!!
- James Borbath1.delfino is raw but very talented. look for him to blow up.
- joe dirteh2.he can play the point.
3.the raps would be stupid to let him go if they can get him at a good price.
4.looks like the raps are going to need a back-up point and delfino could be their man.
5.top three raptor players last season,Bosh calderon and yes delfino.
Sorry joe,but he’s probably fifth best player this season. I realy like Delfino but he was too inconsistent. When he was good he was awsome but when he was bad he was 2 for 20 kinda bad.
1.Bosh
- jeff2.Calderon
3.Parker
4.Rasho
5.Delfino or Moon (Take your pick)
Lamar Odom is the most underrated player in the history of pro sport, period. He’s so darn versatile, so darn talented and has such a high basketball IQ. If Kobe is 1 then he’s 1A on that team. It’s a shame that he always gets ignored by the media.
- BeburgNo sweat, Eric. Rick Pitino was wrong about Rondo too. He is from Louisville and wanted to play there but Pitino wanted Sebastian Telfair who opted into the draft while Rondo played at Louisville’s arch rival Kentucky.
