I just got back from the Raptors practice facility … and Juan Dixon told me he has NOT asked for a trade.
Dixon insisted that the “rumors” that are out there are simply not true. In fact, according to Juan, he hasn’t even had a conversation with Bryan Colangelo regarding “wanting out” or anything like that.
Dixon admitted that he’d like to be playing more — but what player wouldn’t want that?!
He said he’ll continue to be a professional, work hard in practice, and hope to get more playing time as the season goes on. But, again, he has not asked to be dealt from Toronto.
Whether the Raptors keep him or not (the NBA trade deadline is on Thursday) remains to be seen … but … (a) Dixon is a free agent at the end of the season, so Toronto may want to have his expiring salary in place still – for financial reasons and for flexibility at the end of the year, and (b) the Raps may need him to play now if TJ Ford misses any significant amount of time with the abdominal strain that currently has him sidelined.

There are only two issues I care about
1. Is TJ done?
TJ’s ego will never let him pass more than shoots which is means he will always be hope over experience?
He could be an elite passer but that does not get headlines.
If he could shoot like Jose he would take 30 to 40 shoots a game?
Can you trade an 8 million dollar a year back up with physical problems?
Do you really want to keep him?
2. Calderon- now that Jose is proving to be an elite point guard and maybe even a league leading shooter is it better if TJ just quits and collects his guaranteed contract so we can afford Jose and a real back up?
