OK , my last post indicated that I thought Tiger Woods was back. After watching his mental meltdown at The Masters this week in which he appeared unable to hit a ball, I might reword my thoughts. On the video that accompanies this post you’ll see that Tiger not only hits a poor shot but he throws his club down and then kicks it like he’s 4. Announcer (and Masters multiple winner) Nick Faldo said something to the effect of ” Tiger has lost his game ……and his mind” . He’ll likely be fined for poor sportsmanship or perhaps suspended. We’ll never get a confirmation either way from the PGA or Tiger. Anyway, with all his top 10′s, top 3′s and wins in the last few months you can’t deny that Tiger Woods is an elite player. When he’s on he’s very on. But, he’s not the Tiger Woods of old. This guy has demons. Demons and golf are not a great mix. So, we’ll have to give him time. Nothing can take away his record of achievement but the fans will have to accept the fact that we won’t likely see 7 Tiger wins in a row ever again.
No worries golf fans, there are plenty of exciting players out there. Just watch Bubba Watson curve a ball around the earth before it lands on the green or watch Rory beat the field by 12 or even Phil pull off a scary flop shot 50 yards away from a water hazard. Golf is great! (and yes, if you are not a golf fan we get that you would rather watch paint dry)
