Jesse James’ “alleged mistress”
March 18th, 2010 by jamie
I normally treat Hollywood rumours as just that…rumours but this may be the real deal. In Touch magazine (www.intouchweekly.com) broke a story yesterday that said Jesse James has been having an affair on his wife of almost five years actress Sandra Bullock. Like I said, I normally don’t believe stories like this from the get go but Sandra has pulled out of the London premier of her movie “The Blind Side”. Bullock’s camp says she’s not going to do unforeseen personal reasons. I would have felt differently about the whole situation if she came out and said this is ridiculous.
and now word is ….Sandra has moved out and James has since shut down his Twitter account.
I did some digging and here is pic of the alleged mistress….

Is he crazy???

Happy St.Patty’s Day!
March 17th, 2010 by jamie

Everybody is Irish today! Being an O’Connell I have to celebrate. I am wearing green, I will eat green food and I will part take in some sort of green beverage today:)
When I was a kid my parents would parade down to the local watering hole with their friends banging pots and pans (they were the St.Patrick’s Day parade in our town). LOL
We would paint our faces for school and my mom would pack an entirely green lunch.
Some would see today as a just another day, but to me and my family it’s a day for fun
That being said….

About the new 100.5 EZ Rock Music Advisor program.
March 7th, 2010 by dan
You may not realize it, but many of your favourite products have been changed. For example, the tomato soup you’ve been enjoying since you were a kid has had many minor refinements made to it over the years. Somewhere, somebody decided that these little adjustments were good and now the product is more popular than ever before. Would the soup taste as good today if all the competitors have changed and your soup hadn’t? Our new Music Advisor program now gives you an opportunity to have your say in our…soup, so to speak.
We’re constantly tweaking our sound to get better. Making changes that you may or may not notice, from the music we play to the features we air, to the overall sound of the station.
Thanks in advance for your opinion and keep your apron on. We hope you’ll be coming back to the kitchen on a regular basis, because you never know what could go into the EZ Rock soup next.
Beauty Around the World
March 4th, 2010 by jamie
I haven’t watched Oprah in a while but I made a point to watch her show last night. The topic was beauty around the world. What is considered “beautiful” varies from country to country but the one thing we all have in common …we go to great lengths to feel beautiful. From hair extensions, eye-lifts, face whitening creams, eating collagen to leg lengthening surgery ….women do it all to feel more beautiful.
I do a lot to feel more beautiful. I colour, wax, tweeze and laser off hair. I go to the gym 6 days a week. I go for facials. I buy make-up, and clothes I like. I try to eat healthy.
I do these these things for me. Not for anyone else.
What’s you’re beauty regime? Do you do anything that may be considered drastic in order to feel more beautiful? And the most important question, are you doing things for yourself or to make others happy?

Where were you???
March 1st, 2010 by jamie
There are defining moments in history and yesterday was one of them. Team Canada took on Team USA in the gold medal game of men’s Olympic hockey. It looked like Canada was going to win gold with a score of 2-1 with 24 seconds left on the clock and BAM!…..The U-S scores to tie up the game. Sudden death overtime is near and the country holds it’s breath. Then at 7:40 into overtime Sidney Crosby scores the golden goal and the country goes wild!!!!!!!!
Dan and I were watching the game at home with our two girls and we all screamed at the top of our lungs! After that I made sure the lasagne didn’t get dumped to the floor in all the commotion.
Where were you?

Canadian Girls Kick A$$ **updated
February 24th, 2010 by jamie
Now more than ever I’m proud to be a Canadian…and a Canadian woman at that! Canadian women have won 8 out of our 11 medals at the Vancouver games. The ladies have won medals in moguls, short and long track speed-skating, snowboard cross, ski cross and ice dancing.
Today our women athletes have even more chances to win some hardware in bobsleigh, short and long track speed-skating, aerials and the Super G.
And when ( yes when) the IOC gives the green light on women’s ski jumping…we’ll win that too!
I’m so glad that our daughters have so many talented women in so many different sports to look up to. When I was young there weren’t very many female athletic stars and so I never dreamed of one day going to the Olympics. My 7 year old daughter, however, wants to go to the Olympics. She wants to be a diver. I better get on that then:)

****update*****
12 hours later……
Our athletes won four more medals on the Games’ Day 13, for a total of 15 so far.
And all of the new hardware was won by women.
Canada sleds came one-two in the two-woman bobsled. Canada also won a silver medal in the women’s three-thousand-metre short-track speedskating relay and we won a
bronze in the women’s long track speed skating five-thousand metres.
GO CANADA GO!!!!!!

Are our athletes letting us down?
February 21st, 2010 by jamie
My facebook status over the weekend caused some heated discussion between my friends that don’t even know one another.
This was my exact post:
Do you think we put too much pressure on our athletes? My heart sank when Melissa Hollingsworth was crying and said she feels like she let the country down by placing 5 in women’s skeleton. It’s so sad. On the flip though, Gold in Men’s Skeleton!
Here are a few experts from the comments that followed
-She’s the Perdita Felicien of the Winter Games…along with the pressure, we also poured millions of taxpayer dollars into these athletes…I’m sorry but she did let the country down.
-a 5th really isn’t good enough. It’s a huge failure. That wasn’t even close to her OWN expectations let alone the expectations that were placed on her, and those were totally fair given her results and dominance in world cup events.
-we’re all just human and everybody can have a bad day.
-If you’re going to accept taxpayer money to train for the Olympics…you have to accept the responsibilities and expectations that come with that…in this case, she was the World Cup leader, and had MUCH more training on that track than her foreign rivals. No excuses.
-I hope you never do your best and then get chewed up for not reaching your goal and disappointing someone.
- The Canadian Olympic athlete’s program is called OWN The Podium, not Keep Tryin’ or Better Luck Next Time
-our 5yr old told us to remember that she was still # 5 in the whole world and he thought she did well!He was also excited that other country’s get to win medals and be happy. I guess it takes the perspective of a 5yr old to teach us the Olympic spirit!
I say Jaxon is a very smart little boy. I am never disappointed in our Canadian athletes when they don’t medal. A fan of Canadian sport should support athletes in good times and in bad….it makes the good times that much sweeter.

Jaime
