Curtis’ Road Trip Locations

Happy Mother’s Day! Jo from Destination Osoyoos made sure my wife was taken care of for Mom’s Day. I dropped Kelley off at Illumination Spa were she was treated to a full facial treatment. That meant I had the kids all to myself so we headed over to the Osoyoos Model Railway. This is a great spot for kids of all ages – there is so much to see I’ve been there three times now and there’s always something new to see or something you’ve missed. The attention to detail is amazing. (more…)

Hello from Osoyoos! I love it here and so do the kids. When I told them we were coming back this year they got really excited .its great to see their enthusiasm for this part of the province .Lets face it , the only desert in Canada is pretty cool . We arrived in town and went straight to one of the nicest visitor centers you’ll ever see.We met with Jo, she’s the Executive Director of Destination Osoyoos and she rocks! Jo had a full list of great stuff for the family to do and we got through it all, in fact we had so much fun my daughter fell asleep before dinner got to the table , not much comes between my kids and a meal so that proves my baby girl was tired . First thing on the list was a trip the NK’ MIP Wine Cellars, Brian gave us a great tour and he did a great job of keeping the little ones interested which is no easy task as they are my kids. From there we went and sat on the patio for an awesome lunch and took in the spectacular view. Pretty tough to get tired of that view .Next we checked out the Desert Cultural centre.

Fraserway RV is always good to us .Every Year they trust me to head out in one of their gorgeous RV’s .Much like last year they gave me a 29 foot RV . I popped in on Thursday afternoon and the fine folks took great care of me . We did the walk-through and they taught me a few new tricks to set up the awning and a few other tricks of the trade. The RV is outstanding and really easy to set up and best of all easy to drive . You may not believe it but driving a 29 foot RV is easy .I’m pretty sure I could drive this baby anywhere . It’s fully loaded , full shower , good size fridge and a slide out that makes thing seem bigger then my first apartment .but the absolute best part of picking up the RV ……the fact that most of the staff had their Canuck colours on GO CANUCKS GO! Off we go !

Vernon in the North Okanagan is the ideal destination for a quick getaway from the Lower Mainland. Its character is based on its long history illustrated with beautiful old mansions and buildings plus a legacy as a vibrant trading and agricultural town.

With its beautiful setting amongst valleys, mountains, rivers and lakes; Vernon also enjoys wonderful Okanagan weather.  However, if you have only seen Vernon from the confines of Hwy 97, which cuts through the community, we suggest you take a turn and see what you’ve been missing.

Shuswap Tourism

Shuswap Today – Eat. Sleep. Play.

How do you best describe the Shuswap?

You could call it a place where you can stroll though alpine meadows, walk with your family through rolling trails, or step towards an inviting café.  You could say its where you can jump into incredibly warm water from the deck of a houseboat.  You could say it’s a place where you can golf, then bike, then swim, then dine on fine local fare, and take in an evening out on the town.  You could also say it’s a place where you can taste great wines and tour vineyards, explore hidden natural treasures, witness the amazing cycle of the salmon and watch the clear night sky wheel overhead.  Or you could simply say it’s a place where you can change into your vacation shoes, put your feet up and do blissful nothing at all.

Hat Creek Ranch

Historic Hat Creek Ranch offers a rare opportunity to explore the original buildings of a key location in the transportation history of the Cariboo. The site also presents the story of early use of the valley by people of the Shuswap Nation. Here in the dry rainshadow climate, east of the Coast Range mountains, a unique blend of cultures has evolved in a landscape of sage, bunchgrass and Ponderosa pines.
