Barkerville Historic Town
All good things must come to an end so the RV adventure is in its final day. We’ll be on the road soon to work our way back home but before we can do that I have to tell you about day 2 in Barkerville . The day started with the kids playing in the snow at the campground. You’d think they had never seen snow before. We packed up the Fraserway RV on off we went to Barkerville . We had a bunch of things to do today that we didn’t get to yesterday so we had a pretty full to do list . First thing we did is pan for gold. This isn’t something you get to do every day so we jumped at the chance. I found 4 flakes of gold in mine. (more…)
I think its Friday; I’m feeling like a rock star as I only know what day it is by the town I’m in. Don’t get me wrong this is a good thing. It been a busy week but it’s been a ton of fun. Today we met up with James at Barkerville and we checked out this great historic site. James has us set up for two days here. So for day 1 we pretty much could walk around the site at our leisure and check out the sights and sounds of 1872. The funny thing is there is still a ton of snow on the ground. These altitudes combined with the amount of snow the area accumulated and then add a cool spring and you get a white may. It actually snowed a little last night believe it or not. (more…)
