Hard core cyclists take note: July 22nd the Fraser Valley will host the first ever Prospera Valley GranFondo.
It’s a mass cycling event with different rides for all abilities, culminating with the 160 km GranFondo from Fort Langley through the whole Valley.
Organizer Bruce Dayton says it’s not a competitive event.

“This is not a race.  This is a challenge, this is a group ride.  It’s like the Vancouver Sun Run…you can go and ride these roads on your own any time you want, but the excitement that comes along with going out and riding with 1500 people brings a whole new meaning to that day.”

There are 3 distances to choose from: A 3k family route, an 80km route and the big 160km route.

GranFondo events are held across the country, with the premier event held every fall from Vancouver to Whistler.
All the money raised will go towards Special Olympics.
