Is there a road in the community that you absolutely hate driving on, yet can’t seem to avoid?
BCAA want to hear about it.
They’re looking for nominations for BC’s Worst Roads as a way to let the province and cities know what roads need upgrades.
Ken Cousin with BCAA says one of the main criteria is that it’s a road that’s unsafe.
“So we’re looking for roads that have potholes, crumbly pavement that is basically deteriorating, poor road signs or road markings for safety, and poor roads in regards to pedestrian or cycling safety where that’s applicable as well.”
He says the idea is to flag roads that need improvement for municipalities and the ministry of transportation.
“…certainly not to criticize all the great work the government and the municipalities are doing on roads, but maybe to highlight and showcase some of the roads that may not have hit their radar, or maybe to move them higher up on the priority list if they can.”
