THE DISH: Ben Does Indeed Make Terrible Mistake; Russell Brand Throws a Fit (and a Phone); New DVDs!
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012
The Bachelor wrapped up last night, as Ben made yet another in a series of horrible decisions. He popped the question to Courtney. After the Final Rose, we learned that once Ben watched the show and saw what she was really like, they had to spend some time apart, though he did put the ring back on her finger at the end. So they are together. For now.

So has Russell Brand gone crazy? He was named in a police report this week, for allegedly stealing a paparazzo’s iPhone out of his hand and throwing it through a store window, after he caught the guy taking pictures of him. Sorry, did I say “crazy?” I meant crazi-ER. Russell Brand, crazi-er. Enter bonus code CRAZIER for 500 points.

Bunch of cool stuff to keep you on the couch tonight. New on DVD & Blu-Ray, the Adventures of Tintin, Happy Feet Two, Three Musketeers, and 2 movies that got a lot of buzz this awards season – My Weekend With Marilyn, and George Clooney stars in The Descendants.
THE DISH: Ben Might Just Make a Terrible Mistake; Winnipeg’s Got Talent; Lorax Defeats Giant Alien Monster From John Carter
Monday, March 12th, 2012
It’s the Final Rose – tonight, Ben The Bachelor makes his decision. According to our informal Facebook poll, he’s probably going to pick Courtney over Lindzi. And according to numerous entertainment publications, it doesn’t last very long.

Canada’s Got Talent continued the auditions round last night, showing the nation what Winnipeg had to offer.

Not much movement in the top performers at the box office this weekend. The Lorax sat on top for the second week in a row with just under 40 million. New release John Carter followed behind with 30 million. It should be noted that THAT movie cost about $250 million to make.
THE DISH: New Movies; Idol Elimination; Kelly Clarkson’s New Show
Friday, March 9th, 2012
Two new movies opening this weekend! Disney’s hoping to have the first big blockbuster of the year with science-fiction story John Carter. There’s also A Thousand Words. Estimates are saying, however, Dr. Suess’ The Lorax is expected to take top spot again this weekend.
American Idol’s elimination round was last night. Elise and Jeremy were the bottom two. Jeremy was sent home.

And if American Idol, The Voice, and The One weren’t enough for you, get ready for Duets, which premieres this summer, helmed by Kelly Clarkson. Contestants will get to sing with the professionals. Robin Thicke and Lionel Richie are also attached.

THE DISH: Idol Emergency; Snooki is Actually Pregnant; Retiring? You Got it, Dude.
Thursday, March 8th, 2012
An American Idol contestant has been rushed away for medical treatment. Phil Phillips – he’s the dude who always plays the guitar – was complaining of severe abdominal pain, might be gall stones, which he was already treated for a few months ago.

Could it be another sign of the 2012 Armageddon? Snooki from Jersey Shore – she’s FOR REAL pregnant. Like, with a real baby. And she’s really going to be a mom. She finally confirmed it to the media yesterday, and as you can imagine, her future on Jersey Shore is in doubt, since mostly all she does there is get drunk and fall down. Babies generally aren’t cool with that.

And is this true? Are the Olsen Twins done with acting? YOU GOT IT, DUDE. Either Mary-Kate or Ashley (not sure which one) says they’re done with acting, but not necessarily leaving Hollywood. Meaning, we assume, they either want to become producers, or they have another mystery to solve.
THE DISH: Who Ya Gonna Call?; I(dol) Will Always Love You; i(Pad) Will Always Love You
Wednesday, March 7th, 2012
It hasn’t been such a smooth move for Adele, who recently took up in her new house. She’s convinced it’s haunted, to the point that she’s asked one of her bodyguards to move in, full-time. Come on, Adele, a body guard to protect you against a ghost? I think we all know who you’re gonna call…

Speaking of bodyguards, American Idol’s back tonight, and the top 26 will be performing Whitney Houston songs. How much hair do you think was yanked out in brutal fist fights over who gets to sing “I Will Always Love You?”

Apple unveiled the new iPad today. It’s unofficially referred to as the iPad 3, though they neglected to give it a number at the press conference. Enter bonus code IPAD for 500 points. It comes with fancy new features like Siri, HD, and 4G LTE. I don’t know what any of that means.
Apple says it’ll be available in Canada by next week.
THE DISH: Joey & Justin Are N*Sync; Dancing is Against the Law!; Tim Tebow is Against Dancing!
Tuesday, March 6th, 2012
While there’s been no official confirmation, we can assume Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are engaged. And this week, Justin received some marriage advice from former N*Sync bandmate Joey Fatone. Joey say they’ll be fine as long as they communicate. Then he asked Justin if he could spare a few bucks.

Tuesday means new DVDs or Blu-Rays, for your home enjoyment. Immortals, Like Crazy, Jack & Jill, and Footloose are all on the shelves.
He turned down Dancing With the Stars, but could Denver Broncos star quarterback Tim Tebow be headed to The Bachelor? It’s the only thing everyone in my football pool is talking about. Bachelor producer Chris Harrison says nothing’s concrete, but Tebow has expressed interest.

THE DISH: Canada’s Got Talent; Lindsay Lohan Returns to Acting; Lorax is #1
Monday, March 5th, 2012
The wait is over, but the real fun is just starting – Canada’s Got Talent premiered on CityTV last night. It kicked off with auditions from Toronto. The second episode airs tonight at 7 on CityTV.

Lindsay Lohan made her first public appearance without a lawyer involved this weekend, as she hosted Saturday Night Live. Enter bonus code LOHAN for 500 points. The episode hasn’t received the best reviews, but it’s nice to see Lindsay back on track.

And no surprise at this week’s number 1 movie. The Lorax was on track to win the box office, and it did, with a hefty $70.7 million. Project X, which also came out on Friday, came in at number 2 with just over $20 million.
THE DISH: Let’s Hair It For Deandre; The Lorax and I; Whitney Houston Breaks Records
Friday, March 2nd, 2012
American Idol whittled down the top twenty-six singers last night, into a comfortable top thirteen. Ten singers made it with no problem, and three wild-cards, who had not made the top ten – were shoehorned back in by the judges. To everyone’s delight, fan favourite Deandre – and his magnificent head of hair – were saved!

Friday means new movies, and we’ve got two to be excited about. A house party gets out of control in Project X, and Dr. Suess’s The Lorax hits the big screen, with help from Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, Betty White, and Danny DeVito as the Lorax.

And it’s sad that it had to happen this way, but this week, Whitney Houston became the first female artist to have three albums in the top 10 for sales within the same week, including The Bodyguard soundtrack.
THE DISH: Taylor Tebows; Legal Bieber; Snooki’s Craziest Adventure Yet
Thursday, March 1st, 2012
Who’s the latest big name rumored to be involved with Taylor Swift – how about Denver Broncos superstar quarterback ultra-religious, really-nice-dude Tim Tebow? He and Taylor were seen enjoying dinner together earlier this week, with a few other friends. Enter bonus code TEBOW for 500 points. We’ll most likely have to wait until Taylor’s next album to find out if it’s anything serious.

Justin Bieber is now legal in Manitoba, for what that’s worth. He turned 18 years old today, and celebrated like most 18 year olds – parachuting in the afternoon, a gourmet meal planned for dinner, a giant party, and purchasing two mansions. I think someone might buy him a lotto ticket as a joke.
What kind of mother would Jersey Shore’s Snooki be? That’s a very real question these days, as rumors of her pregnancy continue to build. She shrugged them off last month, though it’s believed she’s now past the 3-month “don’t tell anyone” mark, and may make an announcement any day.
