The heart and soul of the American Idol judging panel is sticking around for one more season! Randy Jackson has been signed on for another year, reportedly after talks with Enrique Iglesias broke down. Rumored to be joining Randy and Mariah Carey at the judge’s table are Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. Producers say we can expect an announcement very soon.

New on DVD today – if you’re interested in seeing the movie that led to the breakup of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Snow White and Hunstman is on the shelves today. Kristen and director Rupert Sanders carried on an affair after filming the movie.

True Blood fans, listen up! Anna Paquin and co-star/husband Stephen Moyer welcomed twins today! They were born a few weeks early, but are said to be in good health. No word on the names or gender of the children. Enter BLEH for 500 points.

There was little movement at the box office, in what analysts are calling the worst weekend for movies since 9/11. Basically, nobody went and saw anything at the theatres. The Possession was the top earner with just $9.5 million. Lawless was behind that with $6 million, and new release The Words was in at 3rd place with $5 million.

Some celebrities sell the rights to film their wedding to make cash – and some get married without telling anybody they’re going to do it! Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got married before a small group of family and friends yesterday in South Carolina.

The Voice returns tonight on NBC. Proving itself as the biggest threat to American Idol’s ratings dominance, judges Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee-Lo Green are all back on the judging panel for the show’s third season.

The MTV Video Music Awards begin in just a few hours. Performers include Rihanna, Taylor Swift, P!nk and One Direction. Katy Perry will present the night’s first award.

The bad blood is flowing between X-Factor and The Voice. Both series have their premieres next week. In an interview this week, Chad said his mother loved meeting Avril, though she would have preferred to have met her at least once BEFORE they got engaged. That’s right…this engagement was a shock to absolutely everyone in the world, except Chad Kroeger.

Things are down to the wire over at American Idol. With just two weeks until major production begins, the only judge that has signed on is Mariah Carey. The producers are pretty set on Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban to join the panel as well, but now we’re hearing they want 4 judges. Think they might add Ellen again?

Five more contestants for The Bachelor Canada have been revealed. Among them is “Laura F,” a med student from Winnipeg. The Bachelor Canada premieres October 3rd on CityTV.

Hollywood stars are reacting with shock at the tragic death of Michael Clarke Duncan yesterday. Characterized by many as a “gentle giant,” he’s best known for playing John Coffey in the film The Green Mile. Enter MICHAEL for 500 points. He’d suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago, and never fully recovered. Michael Clarke Duncan was 54 years old.

They’ve denied any dating rumors, but Luke Perry and Jennie Garth have confirmed they’re teaming up for a new TV show. They were recently reunited while filming an Old Navy commercial.

It wasn’t a big weekend at the box office. New release The Possession took top spot with just over $21 million. Shia Labeouf’s new film Lawless came in second with $13 million and The Expendables 2 was just behind it, with $11 million.

The top entertainment story of the day comes from the Republican National Convention in the US. Special guest speaker Clint Eastwood alternately delighted and confused audiences in an 11-minute speech that included a segment in which he talked to an empty chair that was supposed represent Barack Obama. Always a showman, Clint ended the speech with a crowd-pleasing “Go ahead…make my day.”

It’s sounding like a for-sure thing: Randy Jackson is not returning as a judge on American Idol. This leaves two vacant seats alongside newly-signed on judge Mariah Carey. Rumored to be filling those seats are singers Nicki Minaj and country star Keith Urban.

A new movie for horror fans is out this weekend! Another creepy-little-haunted-kid movie, this time dealing with demonic possession. It’s called Possession.

It’s time to say goodbye to the Jersey Shore. MTV announced that the show will be ending after the upcoming sixth season. Though the show is coming to an end, the cast members will still be visible in numerous spinoffs, like The Pauly D Project, and Snooki & JWoww Destroy a House. Enter GTL for 500 points.

In keeping with his past history of being kind of a jerk, John Mayer reportedly dumped Katy Perry via text message. Though their relationship was fairly casual and not serious, that’s still kind of a jerk move. It’s all part of John’s plan to make every woman in the world hate him, one messy relationship at a time.

Charlie Sheen has officially bounced back from the edge of oblivion. After a train wreck of a year in 2011, his new sitcom ‘Anger Management’ has been renewed…for another 90 episodes, guaranteeing syndication and a big fat paycheck for Charlie. As part of the deal, the 90 episodes will be produced within the next two years! It’s likely that the FX network will air them over several seasons.

The first five contestants on The Bachelor Canada have been revealed. The range from all across the country, including a 25 year-old pastor from Sylvan Lake, who worked at an AIDS orphanage in Cambodia, and founded a non-profit children’s camp. Is it just me, or would you not rather just see a show about that?

Kim Kardashian has won her lawsuit against Old Navy. She filed it after a woman who was obviously a Kim lookalike was cast in an Old Navy commercial. Given that Kim isn’t really famous for anything other than being who she is, the judge ruled that she be awarded damages.

Taylor Swift is already fitting right in with the Kennedys – she got thrown out of a party this weekend. She’s been dating Conor Kennedy, and the two of them showed up to a family wedding that he hadn’t RSVP’d to. They were asked to leave a couple times, and eventually did. This is tame by Kennedy-Scandal-Standards, but hey, they’re young, and have plenty of time to disgrace themselves publicly.

Snooki has given birth. She and her fiance Jionni Lavalle welcomed future Nobel Prize winner Lorenzo into the world at a hospital in New Jersey yesterday. He was a healthy 6lbs, 5oz but a little on the pale side, so doctors kept him in an incubator under a tanning lamp. Enter LORENZO for 500 points.

Who’s going to be the next American Idol judge? Well, it won’t be Katy Perry. She turned down a $20 million offer this weekend. As a backup plan, Idol producers have offered Ke$ha $120 and a bottle of scotch. She’s reportedly holding out for $200.

The fallout begins, after Kristen Stewart’s very public apology yesterday for cheating on Robert Pattinson. After she confessed to a “short-lived” affair with her Snow White and The Hunstman director, Rob has reportedly moved out of the home he and Kristen share.

Katy Perry has picked up some more work! As if she didn’t have enough on her plate already, she’s throwing a few snacks on there as well. Katy is the new spokesperson for Popchips. She’s also an investor in the company, having fallen in love with the snack after discovering some in a hotel minibar while on tour.

Carly Rae Jepsen has been enjoying her time at the top, but of course it comes with its drawbacks – hackers breaking into your phone and email. In this case, a hacker found some revealing pictures Carly had on her computer. Unlike some fakes that had been seen earlier this month, Carly has confirmed these are real, and she’s doing what she can to get them back. The Vancouver police are now involved.
