That doctor from Libya, who’s been accused of sexually assaulting a young boy at Children’s Hospital, is now free on bail. The 29 year old man posted a 5 thousand dollar bond and turned over his passport yesterday. The doctor is facing numerous charges after assaulting a boy last weekend. He’ll be back in court July 22nd.
The body of a 68 year old man, who disappeared during spring flooding in southern Manitoba, has now been found and identified. Walter Imbeck was last seen checking a drainage pipe in the R.M. of St. Clements in early April. Friends and family think he must had fallen or slid into the swollen Red River.
So how do Manitoba hospitals rank when it comes to wait times? Well a new report card says we come 3rd in the country. The Wait Time Alliance gave B.C. and Ontario A’s across the board, and Manitoba was actually pretty close behind with all A’s and just one B.
The spring session of Parliament will end today with a whimper rather than a bang. The last order of business will be passing a routine spending bill. An agreement earlier this week between the Liberals and the minority Conservative government, spared Canadians from a summer election. But, gotta tell ya….talk of us going to the polls in the fall is getting louder and louder everyday.
NASA has launched its first moon shot in over 10 years. An unmanned spacecraft took off from Cape Canaveral yesterday. The launch came one month shy of the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s original moon walk. NASA by the way plans on sending humans back to the moon by 2020.
The world’s oldest man has died at the age of 113. Tomoji Tanabe passed away in his sleep today at his home in southern Japan. Born in 1895, Tanabe was certified as the world’s oldest man when he was 111. By the way Tanabe had said one of the secrets to living long was drinking milk everyday and eating shrimp and clams.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation says Ottawa should make the food industry reduce trans fats in prepared products. It says producers have had 2 years to voluntarily slash trans-fat levels, or face regulation…but, not all companies have complied.
