The Mounties say members of the Hells Angels are being seen, flashing their colors all over town in Steinbach.  And one local businessman says he’s seen more vandalism, shoplifting and drugs lately.  Barry Nast says he’s started a petition demanding more police officers and has so far collected hundreds of signatures.  Since April of this year, police have busted 18 people for selling drugs like cocaine and LSD in the town southeast of Winnipeg.
The lawyer for the McLean family says it borders on being “evil.”  Jay Prober is really upset with a YouTube video featuring wisecracks about the beheading of Greyhound bus passenger, Tim McLean, last summer.  Toronto based comedian Darren Frost, jokes about the circumstances of the slaying in his video.  He defended the skit saying he wasn’t making fun of McLean, rather the media coverage surrounding the incident.  Regardless, the video was pulled from the web site yesterday.
The Harper government will unveil their fiscal update today, and guaranteed it’s gonna ruffle the opposition’s feathers.  While it will contain some spending cuts, sources say the Tories will also propose killing the taxpayer subsidy for federal political parties.  The move would save the government about 30 million every year.  But, it would badly hurt the opposition parties, which rely on that subsidy for more than half their funding.
And, no one had the winning ticket for last night’s 16 million dollar jackpot in lotto 6-49.  That means, the jackpot for this weekend’s draw will be around 25 million !
