Temperatures on the Rise in June and July in North Bay

Both June and July saw the mean temperature come in about two degrees higher than average in North Bay.  The mean temperature last month was 20.4 degrees while it was 17.9 degrees in June.  There weren’t any records broken last month, but June saw a few records fall.  We set a new temperature mark on June 11th when the mercury soared to 30.1 degrees — surpassing the 1999 record by about half a degree.  Rainfall and total precipitation records originally set 69 years ago were smashed on June 17th when 24.4 millimetres of rain fell.  Meantime, July only saw six days with more than one millimetre of precipitation and three days with thunderstorms.  Rainfall last month came in at 61.8 millimetres, which is about 40 millimetres below the norm.
