Canadore College’s Puppy
Canadore College has a furry new friend. Canadore will be one of the first colleges in Canada to have a mental health and wellness dog. The puppy will live in residence starting in August. It will be looked after by the residence life coordinator. Vice President of Student Services Shawn Chorney says the college recognizes that some students can be stressed out by the major changes in life when coming to college. He says studies show that dogs can help reduce stress levels and anxiety. There will also be a contest to name the puppy. The public can partake in the contest by visiting the colleges website at www.canadorecollege.ca/namethepuppy.
