Students building their own business
The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound had their 4th annual summer company tradeshow on Wednesday. The event is put on to help students share and network their business ideas to people in the community. Krista Pederson is the youth coordinator. She says the students find something they are interested in and they build the business on that. She says they have students from age 15-29 who could be looking for a summer job, or looking for a career. She says they have 15 students participating this year and she says they usually too very well. Nathan Jeffrey is only 15 and has decided to start his own company called Fresh Herb Gardens, in which he grows and dry’s the herbs himself, to be used for food. Jacob Baley is a Nipissing University student and has started a business called his and herbals. He says he grows plants that can be used for food and medicine. He also hopes to expanded and create a greenhouse growing company in North Bay.
