Work Continues at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School

July 7th, 2012

Work is continuing on the Almaguin Secondary School project. It was stopped even though the schools open because the board came within $400,000 of going over budget on the $28 million project.  Near North District School Board Chair Hewitt, says the board will be borrowing money from the reserves to pay for some outstanding items like a flag pole, road signage, theatre seating. lighting and sound  and athletic equipment. She says they came in $400,000 under budget originally but wanted to ensure they wouldn’t go over budget and that money will be used to do work over the summer as well. She says a full report will be presented to the board in the fall.
