Police Issue Heat Caution

July 6th, 2012

City police are reminding residents about the dangers of increased temperatures.  Officials say sunlight can heat car interiors to lethal temperatures in a very short amount of time and say children and pets should not be left even for a brief period.  Police also say young children and infants are more susceptible to heat illness.  And they say parents should be physically inspecting car seats before placing children in them to avoid injury.

Meantime, the mercury could hit a record Friday in North Bay.  That’s if we reach the forecasted high of 32 degrees.  The current record is 30 degrees and was set back in 1976.  Meantime, we missed a new record Thursday by half a degree.
