North Bay Nurse Clinic receives funding

July 4th, 2012

The North Bay Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic received funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. They will receive over $160,000 at the Lakeshore drive clinic. The announcement was made by Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli. The administrative lead at the North Bay clinic is Leanne Whitney. She says this gives them an opportunity to provided better services to clients in the community, which means they will be better prepared to avoid spending time in the hospital. She says they have 2000 patients on they wait list currently. Whitney says they will now be able to process those clients faster with these funds. She says the primary health care funding is vital to a community like ours. Since opening in August of last year, the clinic has received close to $1.5 million in support.
