Local girl cycling for Habitat

June 15th, 2012

***web version***

Heather Smith’s “Ride for Home” gets underway next month.  The North Bay resident will be cycling from Newfoundland to North Bay to raise funds for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.    Smith says her love for cycling is one motivation while another is the fact she’s always been involved in the community, volunteering with the soup kitchen and Habitat.  She’s looking to raise one dollar per kilometre she rides.   Smith leaves Newfoundland on July 15th and expects to arrive in North Bay on August 18th.  People can follow along with Smith on her blog at www.rideforhome.wordpress.com or on Twitter  @ride4home and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ride4home
