MPP votes against bill involving insurance rates
A private members bill which looked to change risk classification systems for auto insurance was defeated at Queen’s Park this week. And Nipissing’s MPP says it’s good news for drivers in the north. Vic Fedeli says industry experts told him the bill would have driven up rates for northern motorists to subsidize those in urban areas in the south. Based on that he says there was no way he could support the bill. It was defeated by a vote of 52-16.
