MNR Warns Against Illegal Fishing
The MNR says its against the law to fish for smelt in the Four Mile Creek sanctuary near Trout Lake. Recently the ministry educated 90 local residents and as a result warnings were issued for failing to produce a license, fishing without a license and fishing in a sanctuary. The ministry says fish sanctuaries are necessary so that populations are protected during sensitive periods.
