A Northern Communities working group is calling on the provincial government to allow the ONTC to remain competitive.  North Bay Mayor Al McDonald issued a statement Monday on behalf of the Northern Communities Working Group.  The statement was in response to news that the Northern Development and Mines Minister, Rick Bartolucci, will not assist the ONTC in acquiring VIA Rail refurbishment business from a bankrupt New Brunswick company.  McDonald says the ONTC should be given the opportunity to pursue this business, and notes it has the full support of the city of North Bay and NCWG should they decide to engage VIA Rail.
