Temperature Records Shattered in March

April 7th, 2012

Nineteen different weather records were set in North Bay during the month of March. Those include five straight days of record highs from March 18th through the 22nd. In fact, the new temperature record set on the 21st is the highest maximum March has ever seen — at 25.2 degrees. That broke a 1945 record. Overall, March was warmer than usual — coming in about six-and-a-half degrees warmer than average. The city  also saw a snowfall record set earlier in the month.  On March 3rd, 22cm of snow fell, smashing the previous record of 8.6cm set in 2002.
