North Bay’s jobless rate drops
Unemployment in North Bay was down in January, compared to the same month in 2011. Stats Canada Analyst Vincent Ferrao tells CKAT news the jobless figure was 5.7 percent. That’s down from 6.4 percent in January 2011. He also says there were about 400 fewer people working in North Bay. Meantime, across the northeast, unemployment dropped from 6.4 percent in January 2011 to 6.1 percent last month. Ferrao says there were fewer people were in the labour force in the Northeast.
