North Bay-based Cementation is celebrating a national ranking. The Financial Post announced this week that Cementation is one of the Ten Best Companies to Work for in Canada. They started 14 years ago with a handful of employees in North Bay. Now, they have 15-hundred employees involved with projects in Canada, the US, and international locations too.  President Roy Slack tells CKAT News it’s really their employees that win this award, pointing out they’re engaged, they’re interested in the work they’re doing and that makes all the difference.   He also says they continue to hire and get involved with major international projects.  Slack says they were impacted by the economic downturn a couple years ago, but the mining industry has really bounced back with new projects and projects that were put on hold starting back up again.  In terms of criteria for the rankings, Slack says they include compensation, benefits, quality of the workplace, employee engagement, financials with the company and he says they’re really interested in groups that have employment opportunities.
