Home is a Safe Place to Learn

There’s no safer place to start learning about money than at home. And there’s no better time than the normal routines of life. Grocery stores, trips to the bank, and back-to-school shopping expeditions all provide natural classrooms for teaching about money.

While the thought of teaching your child about money may seem like a daunting task, it needn’t be. Some parents are hesitant or may feel ill prepared to introduce money management to their children. Often it’s because they themselves have learned by trial and error. But it doesn’t have to be that way for our children.

If you don’t know where to start, CIBC has an awesome program to help you called SmartStart. The program is designed to remove some of the barriers to participating in the complicated world of finance and to help children gain experience with financial terms from savings accounts to investments.

Meditation

Last week I mentioned a story that said if you have chronic illness (like neck and back pain), one way to alleviate it was to meditate.(use meditate as your bonus code) Honestly think there’s too much going on in my head to meditate. So I put it out there to you. Any ideas on how to meditate…

Here’s what you said:

Hi Christina, about meditation that you mentioned, you’re right it’s extremely difficult to master it but with practice it will come. If you want a great description of how hard it is in a humorous way, read the book – Eat Pray Love, it’s hugely popular.

Anyway, you can attend lots of yoga classes that will slowly teach you how to meditate and some focus on it more than others. Otherwise, I just discovered a new place in Marda Loop that might help it’s called Our Angels- they offer meditation guidance-their website is www.ourangelscenterforwellbeing.com good luck.

You were asking about meditation on your show, I think it was on Friday. Go to a website www.centerpointe.com and decide for yourself. I have been practicing this method for about 8 years. It has a lot of potential to help you deal with this kind if pain. The meditation is beneficial but for the type of pain you were describing you should also consult with good chiropractor. The key here is to find a good chiropractor.

So now all I have to do is find the time… I’ll keep you posted.
