I think we can all agree Stephen Hawking is a brilliant man.  However, if there was ever a shadow of a doubt, this should take care of it – he has revealed not only how to time travel…but how we can build our own Time Machine!

Surprisingly a DeLorean isn’t on the supplies list.  In fact, according to Hawking you only need two of three things: a wormhole and the Large Hadron Collider or a really, really, really fast rocket.

Yep, as always there’s a catch since it can safely be said none of us have access to those things.  However, it is an interesting (albeit wordy) theory that you can check out here.

The coolest thing about the article though is that Stephen Hawking indulges in the same sort of daydreaming we’re all prone to.  Namely trying to answer the question where would you go if you could time travel? Here’s what Hawking had to say:

“If I had a time machine I’d visit Marilyn Monroe in her prime or drop in on Galileo as he turned his telescope to the heavens. Perhaps I’d even travel to the end of the universe to find out how our whole cosmic story ends.”

Some very noble pursuits.  As for myself, I’d put together a list of the most legendary concerts, grab some appropriate concert wear, and fire up the time machine for the greatest road trip ever taken.

Musician Gary Mitchell misses the old days, when soundtracks used to have that moment that got your blood (and your fist) pumping.  Let’s face it the guy has a point here; most soundtracks nowadays don’t even feature new songs, just a collection of tracks that have already done well on the charts.

Well Mitchell is out to change that with his song “In Brightest Day,” which he wrote for the upcoming Green Lantern movie.  I’ll level with you I was always a Green Lantern fan, and it’d be nice to see him have some sort of kick-ass track.  Maybe this song is it…or maybe it’s a little too lacking in the distortion department.  Either way, you have to hand it to Gary Mitchell for trying to write an old school soundtrack anthem and getting the ball rolling on this.  Because if you’re not a fan of this song, we do have until next year before Green Lantern comes out…maybe you could try your hand at your own soundtrack piece.

You can check out his YouTube page for more on his campaign to get this song included in the movie, or just check out the song below.
