Van Halen recently started tongues wagging when they suddenly cancelled a number of  shows, cutting short  their current North American tour.  Some insiders felt that the band was about to  implode because they were fighting so much behind the scenes. A few days after the news broke,  both David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen insisted they were all getting along well, but were playing  so many live shows that they were running out of steam and needed a break.  They promised that VH would be back in action this Fall.  In a recent interview, Eddie Van Halen hinted that big plans were afoot, and we would likely hear an announcement about a major Van Halen event by the end of the year. To quote Eddie: ” So in November we’ll hit Japan, and in the new year we’ll possibly do something special, but I can’t talk about it.”

According to sports insiders, it’s almost a done deal that VH will play the half- time show at Super Bowl next year.  It’s possible that the confirmation will come next week, to coincide with VH’s last show on their tour, which just happens to be in New Orleans- host of  Super Bowl 47 on February 3, 2013 .

Van Halen would be an AWESOME choice to play Super Bowl 47!!! I’ve wanted to see them play the Super Bowl Halftime Show!!!

Now if things fall through for whatever reason, what about AC/DC, Pearl Jam or even the Foo Fighters? Thoughts from fellow members of CHEZ Nation?
