     The nominees have been announced for the 2012 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  First-time nominees this year include Guns N Roses, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart, The Cure, bluesman Freddie King, rap duo Eric B. and Rakim, funk act Rufus with Chaka Khan, and the Rod Stewart-Ronnie Wood group(s) Small Faces/Faces.

     Other nominees back for another shot include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Laura Nyro, the Beastie Boys, Donovan, and the Eric Burdon band War.

    24 gold albums, 14 platinum albums and one of the most influential bands ever. not to mention that they have remained together since the 70′s.

    I agree Rush and Kiss should get in. Pretenders and elvis costello got in before them and that’s a joke. it should be rock and roll bands and the bigger you are the faster you get in and those bands are huge.
