Both The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Iggy Pop were considered for the judging position vacated by Simon Cowell on American Idol before Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler was chosen for the job.  Daltrey was apparently one of 40 applicants for the position, while Iggy says he had a few brief exchanges with the show’s producers before they mutually decided against giving him the job.
