My Mom’s “Little” Treasure
Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
My Mom and Dad are very proud of their garden. It’s all my Dad could talk about this summer! I don’t mind all the garden talk because that I means I get to eat the veggies! So, my lovely mother sent a “care package” to Medicine Hat for me, full of potatoes, carrots and onions. I was very thankful! Then, my mom proceeded to put a picture of her home-grown carrot on her facebook page….check it out:
I showed the picture to Poncho and he thought it was pretty funny. He said it was a total “small town thing” to post a picture of how big your carrot is! LOL. I think it is cute. The Weyburn Tractor ruler is a nice touch too.
Mom, if you’re reading this….know that I am NOT making fun of you! I love that you are so proud of your carrots

One Year Already
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010
Can you believe I’ve been in Medicine Hat for a year already? I celebrated my one year anniversary last week. It was one year ago that Poncho took me on a tour of Medicine Hat. We headed out to Echo Dale where he proceeded to drive down the boat launch….and run out of gas! Funny enough…Poncho ran out of gas this past Friday. Weird huh?
Some of the highlights of my past year in Medicine Hat:
- Homecoming 2009 with The Trews. That was my very first weekend in Medicine Hat!
- Medicine Hat Tigers games: I came here a Saskatoon Blades fan and now I can proudly say I’m a HUGE Tiger fan! I loved going to the playoff hockey games. The atmosphere in The Arena was absolutely amazing!
- I still have NOT received a photo radar ticket in the mail (I’m knocking on wood right now)
- I’ve just recently discovered how beautiful Kin Coulee Park is–I love taking my dog Nala for walks there!
- 3 Days Grace/Billy Talent/ZZ Top/Collective Soul concerts….it is hard to pick a favourite! I love how rock bands come to Medicine Hat.
- Born to Drive: Nothing is cooler than handing over a pair of keys to a young kid who just won a brand new truck!
So there you go, those are some of the many highlights from my past year in the Gas City. I’m sure I’m forgetting tons more!
