On Tuesday, Tom Wright told me that the UFC was considering holding a second show in Toronto, in December. Now, of course, that show had already been reported – December 10th, at Montreal’s Bell Centre.
So I thought, maybe Tom made a mistake. Maybe he said the wrong name, but no. He said the company was going back and forth between Montreal and Toronto, with Montreal being far from a done deal.

“It’s pretty well known there will be another Canadian event in early December; December 10th. We haven’t made any official announcements as to whether it’s Toronto or Montreal,” Wright told me.

And when I asked if it’s possible we see another event in Toronto before the end of the year, Wright responded with “It’s very possible.”

Today, I got an email back from the Director of Canadian Operations, telling me they have a hold on the Air Canada Centre, not Rogers Centre, for December 10th (when the Maple Leafs are on the road).

“Nothing official to announce – we have holds on both the ACC and Bell Centre for December 10th.”

BUT they also have a hold on the Bell Centre for the same date.

From what I’m hearing, Toronto is the current plan — to hold a second show, in our city, but this time, with about one-third as many seats as we saw for UFC 129 in April.

Montreal might be making a play for the show, lowering costs, thus making more money for the UFC, but right now it looks like Toronto is out in front.

This is still far from confirmed, but a second UFC show, this year, is very much a possibility — possibly even inevitable – with Montreal hosting the world’s biggest MMA promotion Dec 10th far from being a done deal.
