Getting ready for a trip through Bingeman’s Scream Park this week!
You know, everyone is afraid of something.
Yes, even you.
There are folks that are afraid of the dark, dogs, heights, and water.
Some fear things so far fetched that you have to wonder what happened to them to make them that way!
There have been documented cases of people who are scared to death of flowers, wine, the moon and clothes (Anthrophobia, Oenophobia, Selenophobia, & Vestiphobia respectively, and a date from hell for the right person!)
I bring up this fear stuff because of my oldest daughter, who is not like alot of other 9 year old girls, has a strange phobia of her own…..fireworks!
She reads about vampires, her favourite movie is ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’, and joked about wanting to sleep in a coffin (at least I thought she was joking), yet fireworks freak her out!
Last summer, we went to my cousins place to set off some Victoria Day fireworks. As soon as they lit up the sky, my daughter went off!!! All we heard was her screaming ‘I want to go, somebody help me!’ before she ran into a stranger’s house for shelter (actually, they were my cousin’s neighbours, and they were with us, but we didn’t know them before tonight!)
I swear, she looked like somebody was trying to kill her!
Why the fear? She LOVED them as a kid and has never had a bad experience with fireworks, she was never burned by one, and she’s never had nightmares about a firework-breathing monster hiding in her closet!
So we asked her, and it turns out the phobia originated from school, where one of her classmates claimed that if a firework touches you, and I quote, ‘you catch fire and die’!
Let me get this straight, she’s afraid of death by fireworks, but wants to sleep in a coffin-shaped bed in a room with posters of ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’, and books about vampires!?!?
If we ever get stuck in Dracula’s castle, we’re fine until Igor brings out the Roman Candles!

OK, just so you know, I think the paparazzi are the deadbeats of Hollywood, the vultures of celebrity, and quite frankly I believe every punch in the face they get is well deserved.
They just never know when enough is enough, and this latest story proves it.
Catherine Zeta-Jones arrived at a New York airport last week but failed to avoid the media attention when she landed and almost broke down as photographers crowded around her and snapped away, blocking her exit from the airport terminal.
Let’s break this down, she could NOT leave because of these leeches, and she was in a hurry because she reportedly cut short her U.K. visit amid fears her husband Michael Douglas’ health is deteriorating as he continues his treatment for throat cancer.

Her husband could have been on his death bed and she couldn’t get on the next plane home.
Did these morons ever stop to think that she’s GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME RIGHT NOW!?!?!?
Is there really somewbody out there that wants to see a wife being denied the right to be by her husband’s side?
Gee whiz, and these people have the gall to press charges when somebody runs them over!

And as the baseball regular season comes to a close, I’d to reflect on the season that was for the Toronto Blue Jays with this link which tells how the Jays were SUPPOSED to finish this year!
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/368886-2010-mlb-predictions#page/18
Wow, they finished a respectable 3rd and ended up leading the league in home runs, with Jose Bautista knocking out over 50 of them!
Damn proud to be a Jays fan!!
