Well, here we are getting ready to embrace a brand new decade and I have to say, I’m a little dissapointed.
When I was a little Billy Hart in the 70′s, if I was to hand in a school assignment on what I thought the world would be like in 2010, I would’ve wrote about flying cars, space travel, marrying a girl from Jupiter, stuff like that.
Today, I still haven’t left Earth, never had a mid-air collision with a flying Honda, and I ended up marrying a girl from Newfoundland instead of Jupiter (I know you’re expecting a smart alec comment, but my wife reads this)
Granted, I never thought about the conveinance of bank cards, blu-ray players, and the internet, so our wheels haven’t exactly been spinning in the dirt.
So in 2010, here’s hoping the progress continues and maybe by 2020, we’ll be broadcasting from the moon celebrating another Maple Leaf Stanley Cup win!!!!

OK, so I believe my oldest daughter is on her way to becoming a ‘goth’. After picking out sneakers with spider webs on them last summer, her enthusiasm for Halloween, and her interest in vampires, our recent conversation strengthened my beliefs.
Sitting around the dining room table, I asked my daughters what colour they would want their new rooms to be painted. My youngest wanted different colours for each wall (yeah right!), but her big sister?
I half expected ‘Black’, but no!
She wants to paint her walls with images of Dracula’s Castle!
This from a girl who still sleeps with a night light!
I don’t see it happening.

What was the biggest Country Music news story of 2009? It would’ve been the announcement of Brooks & Dunn parting ways any other year, but the past 365 days were all about Taylor!
She did everything from win entertainer of the year at the Country Music Association awards to grabbing 8 Grammy nominations to launching her own headlining tour after opening for Keith Urban. Swift also hosted Saturday Night Live to positive reviews and gained additional prominence thanks to a Kanye West, who has not much been heard from since. The year proved to be pretty much all Taylor Swift all the time.
Will it continue in 2010?
