This is the best protest I’ve ever heard. People at this website are organizing a bit of a protest for BP, just outside their head offices. And here is how it works: they are going to buy 1000 vuvuzelas, go on craigslist to hire 1000 vuvuzela players, and then have those players blast the vuvuzelas all day every day outside the BP offices until they finally fix the oil leak in the gulf of Mexico.

If you want to help, they do take donations. They have already surpassed their goal, so now all the rest of the funds will be going to an organization that is helping clean.

This is definitely the funniest protest ever!

It’s basically a giant scavenger hunt that never ends! I first saw it a few years back on one of the first episodes of the hour with George Snuffleupagus…. that’s the correct spelling. I googled it I swear. If you have GPS, so in your car, or maybe in your phone (you can do anyhting on your phone these days, even listen to Q92!)

It works like this: you to go a website like geocaching.com or just google geocaching; there are lots of different sites.  There’s a few in Timmins for sure. You just take the coordinates from the website, plug them into your GPS, then go find it! They usually have something cool inside and a little notebook so you can leave your name. It sounds like a blast, and a fantastic way to get the kids out of your hair for awhile.

Last night, Patrick Kane not only scored the Stanley Cup winning goal in OT, but he was also the only person in the entire building that knew he scored! I personally think the power came from the awesome mullet of his, pictured above. (And youtubed below) Now I want that power, and I wanna see if our Q Listeners do too. So here’s the deal: we’re gonna put a link to this blog on the Q 92 Fan Page on Facebook. Go to that page, and simply ‘like’ the link. Sunday at noon, we will take count. If 350 people like that Beef is thinking about getting a Patrick Kane Mullet (full on with racing stripes), Beef will rock that mullet harder than Patrick Kane’s winning goal.Go like the facebook link now!! Cuz I could use a good racing stripe on my head-Beef

A New Era in Space Exploration

June 6th, 2010 by beef

It really could be. Big news coming from Saturday, private company SpaceX(owned by the guy who founded PayPal) successfully launched a test rocket, which is the first step in moving towards becoming a private contractor for NASA to deliver supplies, and eventually astronauts to the International Space Station.

It doesn’t seem like big news, but it could be big. NASA is retiring the Space Shuttles, and by contracting out all the ‘low orbit’ stuff, like putting satellites into orbit, deliverying supplies and people to the ISS, etc., they will be able to focus more on long-distance trips. Just think, if they don’t have to focus on getting people and stuff to the space station, they can focus on getting people and stuff to Mars!!!

It’s not only big for space exploration, but every day people too! SpaceX is a private company, and they plan to try and make a profit. And you know, that wherever someone is making a profit, a competitor can’t be too far behind. Regular people, get launched into space. This is just the beginning.

It also could mean the beginning of cleaning up space. Something you might not think about is space junk. Everything we have ever launched into space…. is pretty much still there. Sputnik, the very first satellite ever: still in orbit!! But it does nothing, so really it is just in the way. If we have the technology and private enterprise space travel, we can clean up all the garbage!! This really could be the dawn of a new age.

Most likely, the dawn of ‘terrible space shuttle food’ jokes on Comedy Now instead though.
