A group of Gautemalan women and their families continue to live in a precarious situation while a lawsuit launched on their behalf drags on in Canada.

Shoal Lake First Nation has stepped up its protests. Snowmobile trails have been blocked in the territory. The community’s Chief, Eli Mandamin, says there are so many unresolved issues with two provinces.

An Aboriginal women’s conference in Happy Valley Goose Bay focused on culture to create and maintain strong women and strong communities.

Harry Snowboy, a Cree healer is working on his second book, reflections of his life and his work in various communities after his calling.

Is it an erosion of rights? Some think so, but the government says not. The name change of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada to Aboriginal and Northern Affairs Canada has sparked some controversy in the First Nations community throughout the country.

Inuit in Canada have a shorter life expectancy than others in the country. Bamoseda finds out the contributing factors and what one organization says should be done to help extend the life expectancy for Inuit.

Parents of missing children now have extra help from the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. The Centre has launched a national missing children’s resource centre.

The Truth and Reconciliation Committee has come out with a handful announcements, including upcoming hearing dates in the country’s North, Proposals for a Commemoration Initiative and a forum for the creation of a National Research Centre.
It’s going to be bigger than ever – that’s because it’s the 20th annual Women’s Memorial March in Vancouver and preparations are underway for the Valentine’s Day event.
Tsuu T’ina First Nation and the University of Calgary have teamed up to deliver a language program to community members.
Mi’kmaq artist Roger Simons is being  celebrated with a retrospective of his work at the Klu’Skap Gallery in Moncton.
