Whenever the Argos start selling individual game tickets with events such as today’s Drive-Thru on Bremner Blvd. you know that the 2008 CFL Season is right around the corner.
Fans have a window from 6:30am-10:30am and 2:30pm-6:30pm today to get 40-50% off tickets for the home opener on July 3rd vs. Hamilton. A great deal on tickets. Players in attendance include Noel Prefontaine, Jeff Johnson, Andre Talbot, and many others in the afternoon.
When these events start to happen, you really see the excitement on the players’ faces to get ready to go back to camp. Jeff Johnson is coming off a serious leg injury, but is excited to get back to camp and perhaps play a larger role on this team. Johnson has been the Fullback here for sometime, but now he has a chance to compete for the wide open Tailback position. Noel Prefontaine says he’s not 100% but he intends to be effective at the kicker/punter position, just don’t expect him to block like he used to.

Why are the Argos devaluing their brand by discounting their tickets? Why not “here, buy a ticket and we’ll give you X, or X and Y.”
I get that they have a large inventory of seats and are looking for creative ways to sell them and I applaud the Drive Thru idea. I just don’t know that a 40-50% discount gets them anywhere in the long run. And what’s the message being sent to season ticket holders who paid full whack?
