Merry Swiftmas!

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

TAYLOR SWIFT has many admirers around the world, but musician EVAN TAUBENFELD has taken it to another level with his new song “Merry Swiftmas (Even Though I Celebrate Chanukah).” The light-hearted holiday tune finds Evan asking Santa to send him Miss Swift for Christmas this year. He even promises to leave St. Nick a copy of Taylor’s Fearless: Platinum Edition instead of the traditional milk and cookies. Taylor is apparently flattered by the song. She posted a link on Twitter to the song’s YouTube video with the message, “This makes me smile.”

Taking Facebook a Little Too Far?

Friday, December 4th, 2009

How would this go over if it was YOU standing at the altar?

Facebook has become so popular it’s now even invading wedding ceremonies! When Dana Hanna married Tracy Page, the minister had just pronounced the couple husband and wife. But before Dana gave his new bride the traditional first married kiss, he whipped out his Blackberry and updated his Facebook status to married! He also Tweeted: “Standing at the altar with Tracy Page where just a second ago, she became my wife! Gotta go, time to kiss my bride.” The audience burst out laughing as the minister, who was in on the stunt, told them the groom was updating his relationship status. Dana then handed his phone to Tracy so she could also update her Facebook status. Dana later admitted, “This was just done to be funny. We really don’t Facebook that often.”
