You’re looking at the “Most Artistically Challenged” pumpkin from yesterday’s Unicef Pumpkin Carving Contest at Kildonan Place. There were some pretty terrific pumpkins this year – see more by clicking here.
I think it’s a perfect pumpkin – maybe for Christmas? lol

Where Can I Get Immunized for H1N1?
Friday, October 23rd, 2009
H1N1 flu shots will be offered to persons of all ages in the Winnipeg health region over a multi-week period, starting Monday, October 26. Persons who are most at risk of H1N1 flu will be offered their flu shot first. This includes the following “at risk” individuals:
- children aged six months to under five years old;
- everyone of Aboriginal ancestry (First Nations, Metis or Inuit);
- individuals under 65 years old with chronic illness or other risk conditions, including severe obesity, substance abuse or alcoholism;
- anyone with a weakened immune system or those who live with and care for them;
- those who live with or care for infants under six months old;
- single parents or anyone solely responsible for a dependent;
- people living in remote or isolated areas; and
- Disadvantaged populations (for example the homeless).
If you fall into one of these categories, you are encouraged to get your flu shot during the first few weeks of the flu shot clinics.
Please note that there is enough H1N1 vaccine for every person in the Winnipeg health region, and clinics will be offered over an extended period to ensure that all Winnipeggers have many opportunities to get their H1N1 flu shot.
Each clinic will be open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Birthday
Thursday, October 15th, 2009
Yes, I’ve got another one of “those” coming up this weekend (they get less and less exciting the older I get lol)
I just wanted to share this with you because I think my mom is soooo cute! She attached this video with the following words. It’s funny, because she’s always joked that she doesn’t have to lie about her age, she can instead just lie about mine!
The happiest of all days just for you Jay, today (or the 17th I should say because this comes early), thirty something years ago (!) I was the proud mom of a beautiful baby boy .. precious then and precious now!!!
I love you so much

Calorie Counter
Friday, October 9th, 2009
Do you follow your “healthy eating” plan during Thanksgiving? Or do you just say “forget it, pass it all down my way!!!??”
Either way, if you want to know how many calories you’ll be consuming this weekend, click on this link.
Just check off any food and drink items you’ll be enjoying (be honest) and it’ll do the math for you!
My Sasha – Famous Pooch
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009
I thought this was soooo cool! My Grandma in Saskatoon came across this flyer in their local newspaper over the weekend. It’s from the Saskatoon SPCA asking pet owners to submit pictures and successful adoption stories from their facility. Well, if you look closely, you’ll see MY SASHA! I had sent this picture to them a few years back, and they decided to use it for the flyer!
There are so many wonderful animals (much like my Sasha) waiting to be adopted here at the Humane Society – go have a look and see for yourself.

Michael Buble

The new CD “Crazy Love” is out Friday! I thought you might like to see his new video, featuring his girlfriend Luisana. Last time I was in Las Vegas, I saw the two of them walking hand in hand through the casino floor at the MGM GRAND. Actually, I saw HER, and only noticed Michael after they had already walked by! lol.
You’ll see what I mean when you see her in the video. Check her, er, I mean, it out!
