Holidays

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Honestly, it’s more of a week off just to sleep in – a little R&R next week. I thought this was too cute to keep to myself. See you in August!

Too Much?

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Here’s a recent pic of Madonna in London. I know she loves to be in shape, but has she taken it a bit too far? Thoughts?

Speaking of health, I’ve GOT to get back to a workout program of some sorts. Ever since I messed up my back a month or so ago, I’ve been LAZY!!!! I was watching Breakfast Television this morning, and the trainer said that even when you’re injured, you should still work out to some degree. OOPS. I guess thinking about it is the first step, right?

Thought this was cute – Bryan Adams (all the way at the end) is the best! It’s amazing how some of these people look EXACTLY like they did when they were young! Who do you think this guy is? Find out by clicking the link below.

Tragedy in St. Malo

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Got this message from one of our listeners regarding the drowning over the weekend in St. Malo on my Facebook page earlier today. It’s such a heartbreaker. I’ve personally heard a scream of utter terror similar to this poor mother – it’s a sound I’ll never forget. This listener has got such a valid point. No matter how much we watch our children, accidents happen. No one is perfect, and this could have happened to anyone. If this story doesn’t make you want to grab your children and hold on for dear life, I don’t know what will. Please read below:

Dear Jay: I was their on saturday when the little boy drown. I pretty much seen the whole thing. (not included the disapearance but pretty much after they found him.) I can tell you that I will never forget the scream that came from mom and the look of total lost on dad. My first reaction to them was the same as every one else until I realise that it could happen to any one of us. I honestly don’t think that any parents can say that they keep an eye on their kids all the time. It only takes a minute for a small child to get lost in a crowd and lost could happen. Just the smallest thing like turning your head to answer a question some one asked of you and their you go, before you know it the child is gone. Like I said I was their that day and I heard the mom say she just turned her head for one minute to say something to some one and well you know the rest. All I can say is again I will never forget. Before you ask I have four kids of my own now and thank god they all grew up. I also have a grandson the age of 3 and think that could happen to him to. Anyways I just wanted to say something about this and I hope you can let all parents out their that none of us is perfect and we do make mistake some really big like turn your head on your child for one moment.Thank you for reading this

A faithful listener

More Michael

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

I seriously don’t think I’ve heard this much Michael Jackson music in YEARS! Shatilla’s Hollywood will bring us up to speed on the latest news in the “circus” that has surrounded the King of Pop’s death.

In reading about Michael (let’s face it, you can’t go anywhere without seeing something these days) I found it interesting that he didn’t invent his famous Moonwalk, but he certainly did perfect it. He first showed it to the world at the Motown 25th Anniversary TV special in 1983 . He literally stole the show, and even though he wasn’t impressed with his performance (he was a perfectionist and later told Oprah that he wanted to stay up on his toes longer) he would never be able to perform again without showing us his signature move.

Here’s an ongoing tribute to Michael, and his famous Moonwalk. You can even record yourself “Moonwalking” and submit the video. The idea is to keep the Moonwalk going, and going, and going……

This might just blow your mind…..

-Michael Jackson signed his will on 7/7/02.
-Michael Jackson’s memorial was on 7/7/09 … exactly 7 years after the will was signed.
-Michael Jackson’s two biggest hits — “Black & White” and “Billie Jean” — were each #1 for 7 weeks.
-Michael Jackson’s three biggest albums — “Thriller,” “Bad” and “Dangerous” — each produced 7 top 40 hits.
-Michael Jackson was the 7th of 9 children.
-Michael Jackson was born in 1958 … 19 + 58 = 77
-Michael Jackson died on the 25th … 2 + 5 = 7
-Michael Jackson has 7 letters in his first and last name.

Tomorrow night’s lotto 649? 14 million….7+7 = 14

I’m just sayin’……

Funny How Times Change

dupont-cellophane-babies.jpg

This is a shocking picture isn’t it? It’s something you might see from the hit tv show (which I think is absolutely brilliant) Mad Men. Depending on how you look at today’s web link, you might either get a smirk, or you’ll feel your blood start to boil. Or, perhaps, both! Either way, it’s worth a peek. It’s a series of old print advertisments from years gone by. It makes a person wonder how many of the products and drugs we’re using right now will end up being in a series of similar ads 30 years from now?
