Charge it!!!!
Friday, November 21st, 2008
Read something interesting this week about credit (I know, that’s an evil word this time of year!)
Only 29% of parents pay their credit card balance in full each month (guilty) – and only 56% of parents try to stick to a budget! To make matters worse, I know a LOT of people who are still paying off their credit card bills from LAST Christmas!
I found a cool (and free) program you can download to help you budget your money and perhaps change your bad habits. It’s called Piggypal, and all you have to do is click here to start downloading.
Do you budget for your Chistmas shopping, or do you just charge it all and worry about it in the new year (and then resolve to never, ever do that again?)
Regardless, you better get to the mall now while there’s still a parking spot

….is supposed to stay there, isn’t it? Well remember how last Friday I started losing my voice during the show? It hasn’t come back. In fact, it got worse over the weekend. Let me tell you, being a fairly “vocal” person and not being able to talk to people in one of the worlds loudest cities is so frustrating! Other than being ridiculously sick, it was an amazing trip – and I managed to come back with a bit of cash still in my pocket
Anyway, once I got home I headed straight for a doctor, and sure enough I’ve got bronchitis. I’ve never had anything like this. You know when you swallow a great big pill and it feels like it gets stuck halfway down your throat? That’s what this is like. Plus I’ve never coughed so much in my life – I’m literally waking myself up at night hacking. Hopefully those antibiotics will kick in soon and the voice will come back.
Until then, thanks to Billie Jo for managing the show on her own. It’s tough to go solo when you’re used to having someone there to talk to every day. You’re a trooper Beej!!!
Bonus code: antibiotics
Get in the kitchen!!

Men, listen up – today is Men Make Dinner Day! Now, if you cook often (or even just every now and then) today is NOT for you. However, if the thought of even going near a chopping board, or a heating element makes you tremble in your boots, then you HAVE to check out this website.
You’ll get the rules -for example, be prepared to not only find the recipe, but you have to buy all of the groceries too!
Oh, and if you don’t know the difference between a quiche and a salad, there are some very easy recipes for you too.
Good luck, and if it works out save me some leftovers!

On another note, thanks to Ernie and the gang at Independent Jewellers. Last night we packed the place with VIP’s for Ladies Night. It was a chance to try on some amazing jewelry, make a wish list for the holiday season, and even meet #85 Milt Stegall. The line up to get his autograph was wrapped around the store, and he stayed until the very end to make sure everyone got a piece of him – his time, that is
Thanks Milt, and good luck Saturday! That game against Edmonton goes at noon, and we’re hoping that you will be able to bring a new unwrapped toy to the game for the less fortunate kids in time for Christmas.

Really excited to meet my best friend Brad in Vegas this weekend. We’ve been planning this trip for years and finally it’s just one sleep away! Too bad the loonie’s not at par anymore – I just picked up some Cirque tickets and couldn’t believe the difference in price on my credit card account – nearly 100 dollars more than the American price!!! Wish me luck
Special Olympics Gala Night
Sunday, November 2nd, 2008
Thanks to Kim and the gang at Special O for inviting me and Billie Jo to host their gala night this past Thursday. What a blast! Bill Knight was our auctioneer (some amazing auction items!) and Leah Hextall from CTV was our “roving reporter” for the night. Not only is this a big fundraiser, but it’s a chance to meet some of our amazing athletes who are busy training for competition. Oh, and thanks to Trish and the gang at Michael’s Formal Wear for “dolling me up” – I don’t get to wear a tux very often!
